Hardwood Floor Cleaning

Be sure to sweep your hardwood floor often. Using a soft broom with a fine bristlehead works best.

Never use water to clean your hardwood floor - it is a natural enemy. Be sure to get rid of any spills right away.
Floor mats are good for keeping dirt off, at the end and beginning of the floor.
If you want to mop, use a dry damp mophead, but not a wet one.
Vacuum the hardwood floor once or twice a week. Again, use a soft brush, this way you won't scratch the floor.
Avoid using shoes or high heels on a hardwood floor. They can cause dents.
Do not drag furniture across your hardwood floor.
Manufacturers have recommendations to treat any scratches or dents that may appear.
Some floors may require waxing and buffing.
